"Create Error!!"

so this topic has probably been discussed alot, but I'm struggling to understand what the cause of this is. Had the MPC1000 for a little under a month, making good progress with it, but im now starting to get a few error messages ("Create/System Error!!"). I've noticed the create error usually happens after I get in depth within program mode (filter, tune, etc), and after seeing the "Create Error!!" once in a session, I can no longer save ANYTHING (samples, programs, sequences, songs).
Then I will try to create a new folder and attempt to save in that directory, now I have "System Error".

I should mention that I am only running on the Akai OS 2.13, a weak 16MB of RAM (Internal memory), and a 128MB CF card.

If this is purely an Akai OS related issue, then I have to say it's incredible that a product would be released with a major bug like that!!!!!

Anyway, will probably move onto a JJ OS soon anyway.

I concur. Even though I have not experienced this error, you will find JJOS very stable, and should stop those errors happening

Just a quick update - I can no longer save anything without the 'Create Error!!' message.
All I did was record, name and trim a sample...

Did you check that the CF card actually has enough room on it to save. You might not have enough room to save another project. Try another CF card

after you change OSes, backup and then format your storage medium. don't forget to read the "important" section of JJos otherwise those issues will follow you to your grave

btw, there is a jj os (3.12) which is for free. It is more or less same as the akai os but fixes some bugs, maybe the one you're reporting is one of them...

Plenty of space on the 128MB CF.

Just noticed another bug on the Akai OS: if I move events in step edit, other programs audio disappear! even though their events are still un-touched in step edit.

Anyway, Akai OS seems like a complete mess, and I'm currently on the JJ OS site.

Yeay 12Mb is not much and can be filled with one project. just be aware of that. Back up as well before going to JJos just in case something goes wrong

Just thought I should let you peeps know that I updated to JJ OS1 v4.99

I have not seen the "Create Error!!" since. For all those that went through the same problems I did, update to JJ OS 1 or 2. Now...
