on the sp samplers, you can record samples to their memory and then erase them and gain back all the space, but you cant do this on the mpc? if you record to memory, you cant gain back that space. you'll have to buy another memory chip. how come?

There is only one memory RAM upgrade available. That makes it 128 MB. All samples are in this RAM when loaded and can be removed by deleting sample. This will free up more space for you. This is not same as CF card or hardrive of course.
