i think your overlooking the fact it says 'i/o error " and cant be read by either a pc or mpc.

if i could open it to get wavs out i wouldnt have made this thread 8)

Yeah man, I am. I have personally had i/o device error when dealing with bad wav files. They cause weird problems is what I'm saying, but that's cool. If the op has has the chance though I'd still suggest trying it, it can't hurt anything.

Well, he's only had six years to sus it over. I wonder if he was formatting with the Akai OS. Bad news there...

yeh, i am going to try recovering first, i think i should be able to see the contents on a recovery program, otherwise i've cut my losses.

Worst case is i lost 25 beats. a kick up the backside for not backing up my CF cards.

I can say though, now the initial anger and frustration has subsided, that my head feels really clear. i think losing these beats has refreshed me. and on the plus side, i have about 20 odd records to go back through and re-flip on fresh ears.

Yeh word, i been slack lately, lucky slack for me is only 25 beats and not the other CF card, which has over 150..........

i backed it all again last night.

If anyone loses beats and needs consoling, im your man!
