new to mpc 1000 keyboard help

yo new to the forums, been messing with sp's for a while recently copped an mp1k with jj os v.3.12.
ive been making beats fine on this thing i love it the only problem is when i wanna play and overdub my keyboard over the sequence ive made, i just have no clue how to do it. help?

thanks, i never would have even thought of that cause the sp only has a midi in! totally slipped my mind
