Muting the main outs??

Hey guys,

I'm trying to find a way to mute the main outputs on my mpc1k, so that i can record vocals and such with my mic while listning trough the headphones. So far i've had no avail. Anybody know a good solution?

How do you have everything set up?

Are you trying to record the vocals into a daw, hardware recorder or the mpc itself?

Simplest way is to just pull out the main out cables.

It used to not be a problem but nowadays i have my main outs from the mixer going into the mpc and the mpc's main outs directly to the monitors, instead of the other way around. reason is my mixer has some inbuilt effects that only work coming out of the main outs.

Is there no way to mute then from inside the mpc? i record alot of beatbox noises into my drum sequences and such so i kinda need to be able to mute them on the fly
