hey.
Ive been tryning to use my MPC 1000 jjos as a midi controller for ableton live 8 to bang out drums or samples etc.
I have a midi to usb cable put I just cant seem to make the MPC talk to ableton.
anyone have any ideas on how to do this? is it possible?

Yep it's possible.
You gotta set the midi settings of the mpc to be sending midi, but you also have to set the midi output channel of your active track on the mpc to match that of the track in ableton.

i tried vasrious things, i have a feeling im just doing one thing wrong, cant seem to get it working,

open ableton
go to preferences>MIDI
turn on the input of your MIDI to USB device
set one of your MPC tracks to MIDI channel 1A (just an example)
open MIDI track in ableton
set MIDI from to your MIDI to USB device channel 1
used this way the mpc can send 16 channels of MIDI to 16 different plugins within Ableton.
