I just updated the firmware version and now I cannot assign

I just bought the replacement kit to replace all the pads with new ones and in the process needed to update the OS firmware (have had my MPC for about 5 years and I guess it needed it) now when I assign the sounds to the pads it doesn't save it. Am I doing something wrong? Before I would go to Load, then assign the specific sound to the pad. Did the new OS firmware change the way it's done? Please any advice would help.

maybe its time to try JJOS. It is better than Akai OS and there is a free one as well. see link on front page. Have you not even tried it yet in 5 years ?? thats crazy.

Not any difference between the akai updates really, the updates have notes on the website to show you the changes.
Reread page 94 of your manual for loading to pad.

THanks for the advice bro. I had dead pads on my MPC and never knew their were updates for the OS. So when I bought the replacement kit I found out for the first time their were updates to the OS. I will try out this JJOS you suggested though.

yep mpcforums put me onto it, so doing the same. It is worth gettig the JJOSXL, you can try it for free, and there is a free version to. Dont delay as you will kick your self for not doing it earlier.

You have a few to choose from including the new one for the large screen upgrade.
If you look at top there is a comparison chart. No contest though XL all the way. Do a search on youtube for vids for JJOSXL or JJOS to see what people are doing with it.
They are all free to try, you need to pay to unlock the save screens. But there is a free version as well. So at least get the free one to make chopping easier and try the other ones as well after you are used to it.
