16 bit WAV samples will not upload from Mac to MPC1000

Hey, so I'll probably just get shit on for asking this, but unfortunately I'm clueless to this problem and can't help it.

I've recently started to get the hang of my MPC1000 finally. I've been uploading multiple samples from my Mac, learning to chop them, making beats and sequences, storing and saving everything properly, all that good stuff. But now I'm encountering a new problem. I've been trying to upload a few samples from a Mac onto the MPC (mind you, they're all already in the 16 bit WAV format already) and when I go to drag them over to the MPC1000 window (while I have it hooked up to the Mac by a USB cable), an error message keeps coming up and saying "The item can't be copied because there isn't enough free space" and it won't accept it. So, then I try to directly send it into the MPC1000 device window from Audacity (where all the samples are saved). I'll use the Export button to save them into the MPC1000 device window but then a message from Audacity comes up, saying it "can't export the file". Again, these are already in the 16 bit WAV format.

I just tried purging the MPC1000 for any unused samples in case there wasn't enough space on the memory card or RAM or whatever, but the problem is still there. I just upgraded to 128 RAM and I've got plenty of free space on this thing. I only have probably less than a minute or two worth of samples saved on here, at most. I don't know what the problem is.

Has anyone encountered this problem? Any suggestions? Please let me know.

There's a difference between RAM memory and storage memory.
You ran out of storage memory. So erase some samples from your CF card or purchase one with more storage capacity. Or do like most people do: install a hard disk inside your mpc.

Yeah, right after I made this point, I think I figured it out. I had some samples saved outside of the "Internal" file (where I usually save everything to), and realized that I could delete those. I still don't completely grasp the concept of the difference between RAM and Compact Flash, but I think I figured it out. I appreciate the help regardless. I should probably look into the hard disk. Thanks for your help.

CF cards are too slow to playback samples from them (at least with the mpc, I believe there are some samplers that can do it, but I dunno)

So the MPC uses RAM memory to store all the samples you have assigned to pads and stuff. RAM can be read and written a lot faster. Only problem is that RAM will lose all of its memory when you turn the MPC off.

So you need to have the CF card or hard drive as well, so you can keep your stuff when the mpc's turned off.

It's the same as in computers.
