Question about song mode

Just got a blue MPC 1000, I made a beat on Sequence 1, and on Sequence 2 I have a intro of a sample of a person talking over the same sound played on Sequence 1(without the drums and hi hats). When I play the sequences separately they are fine, but when I go to song mode and put Sequence 2(just the melody and the person talking) as the first to play in the song followed by Sequence 1 the actual beat(drums, hi hats and melody), the person talking sample keeps looping even past the designed repeats. And the drums from Sequence 1 do not play, the song wont play each sequence as it should. Any idea why this is happening? Thanks alot.

How are you trying to play back the song?

Are you pressing play in the song mode window? If so, it should work fine, or else it's an issue I can't help with.

Or are you trying to export the song as a new sequence first? If so, that can get messed up, because if you have track mutes that are different on two sequences (as it sounds like you do) it will not convert the track mute info into the new song sequence. (or maybe it will, I dunno, but anyway, it cannot playback track mutes mid-sequence, I believe).
