problem with MPC incorrectly saving sequences as mid file

I am having a strange problem I have never encountered before. I laid down a song with several sequences in during session. I saved each part of the song as sequences (as one would do) and saved all the programs that were mapped to the sequences. I then later, in another session, came back and put a huge amount of work into finishing the song. I created a lot more sequences and saved them as usual. However, now when I go back to it, all of the sequences I saved during my second session don't show up as sequences, but show up as MID files. When I load the MID file it comes up as a sequence, but all the tracks are empty (i.e. none of programs that were mapped to the tracks show up).

Does anyone know how or why this would happen? I am not new to the MPC 1000 and have been using it for years and never had this happen. Thanks.

When you save a single sequence, you are given the choice to save either a SEQ or a MID. Just make sure you choose SEQ.

If you have chosen MID you will have lost some of the MPC specific data as you have seen.
