Hei I dint think they are the fat pads just the standard replacement from mpc stuff. They are also really really insensitive like even if I hit them as hard as I can I dont get velocity of 127. Its not that big of an issue for me since I can use 16 levels velocity to work around this but still kinda annoying
The standard 1000 pads, meaning the classic sheet design that is actually the revised 1000 pads, are still not up to par. there's still a tiny gap between the pad sheet underside and the sensor sheet.
When I had mine in it drove me crazy. I just started triggering the 1000 with a Korg padKONTROL. (which was ultra butter). So when MPCStuff did the 1000 Fat Pads with the corks not needed because they just added the height of the cork to the bottom of the rubber sheet, I was like SOLD.
Since installing the Fat Pads the 1000 is a joy to play the pads on. Corner triggers, light taps, it's all great. I'd say as good as my XL which many feel has great sensitivity standard.
So yeah I had the same situation but the $40 on the Fat Pads solved it. I suppose you could get some corks and apply those to your current standard pad sheet. There's sometimes confusion on them. You wouldn't put corks on the 1000 Fat Pads as they don't need them by design, but every other Fat Pad set does usually need them. And many have used them on a standard pad sheet as well.
Bottom line another $40 and a screwdriver all your woes are solved. The 1000 Fat Pads are the truth. Or find out the brand of silicone Nym uses and apply amounts that will close the gap on your standard sheet if you want to explore a $5 DIY method.
