Word up Damien907. Same here even on pads with good velocity response and dynamics I'm still always going in and making the most OCD velocity tweaks. The way I see it only the loudest in your face club type productions using an old school x0x or similar sound OK with everything at 127 or at 2 levels like a real 808 would have.
I got a extra very lightly used pad fix kit here. I should find a cheap busted blue and try to make a little extra $ doing a clean up and sale.
