I bought a used MPC1000 which is running JJOS2XL version 2.14, so far i find the MPC to be brilliant and i can really see its potential, really love it.
This all being said i feel something is missing , I am still new to the MPC and have been learning mostly by playing trial and error i haven't really referred to an instruction manual as they mostly are based on the original Akai operating system.
In a nutshell , I'm having a hard time understanding how to use of certain sequence/beat making functions within the MPC.
I am able to access Mode+Pad 15 [Play From] and record via that screen, also the same thing applies to Mode+Pad 5 [Record] which i am able to access and use without a problem , though neither of these ways feel optimal.
As i have been searching for answers , i notice in some YouTube videos people where making their sequences Via the Main Screen Interface , in which it would keep looping over and they could keep adding sounds to their bars of choice.
This is whats not available to me , the best i can get is one note at the very start and it never goes beyond that unless i scroll through the bars with the wheel adding notes as if with a mouse to a piano roll.
Why cant i press record + play on this screen successfully? Even if it plays through after i hit the record button, the notes don't show up on the screen after i hit them.
Anyway i thought i would reach out to you veterans in hope that you could shed some light to what may be a simple fix , or any other insight you might offer into the matter.
