one pad with no sound

so i just got my mpc 1000. i have turned volume full and the velocity responds on all pads but i get almost no sound from pad 12-16

are they dead or there something else wrong its my first mpc btw

are samples assigned to pads in the program? I know this sounds like a stupid question but a lot of people who ask this question don't have their MPC set up correctly.
