MPC PAD UPGRADE

I'm waiting to purchase the mpc 1000 pad upgrade i purchased my mpc used and some pads are a bit shotty. would it be beneficial to clean around the pads etc? what would you use to do so?

If they are in fact the old style pad your choices are to buy a couple of old style pads to replace the bad ones or do the upgrade.

People had many different things they tried before Akai created the replacement pads but they will tell you for the amount of effort vs the result you are better off getting the new style pads.
