no sound from pads or sequence

ok, i bought the mpc 1000 tutorial. all was well, i was loading the examples etc and at some point i dis abled the auto load function. all was well, so one day i try loading programs & samples and i get no sound, when i press play i get nothing, & no sound from pads, funny thing is when i find the kick drum samples or cymbol or snare samples from the tutorial and i hit the "play it" button, i get sound... so i went back and enabled the auto load function and restart the mpc thinking that that was the prob.. and still no sound at all..note that the mpc shows all indication to be playing a beat.

i'm also having this problem!

as a troubleshooting measure, i would reseat ram at least and then consider doing cable connections inside the unit
