Samples playing very slowly.

I've tried converting samples in logic pro to 16 bit 44.1 khz wav files and then loading them to my mpc 1000. Once on the mpc, the samples play back either extremely slow or a different pitch then intended. Any tips? I'm positive they were saved as 16 bit 44.1 khz.

Check what format they are in, while on the computer.

Open them in Quicktime Player, choose Window/Show Movie Inspector (or press command-i, make sure that they are 44100Hz/16-bit.

sometimes when you convert samples from a higher sample rate the result is just s slowing down of the playback which in turn lowers the pitch of the sample. make sure you arent transposing. try r8brain and see if its the same.
