MPC1000 reboots itself

Hello, I know other people have posted similar topics before and I am reposting because the things that those people did to fix their machines has not fixed mine.
My MPC reboots itself, usually in the middle of some process, sometimes when playing, sometimes when loading, it seems pretty random, and I am having a hard time trouble shooting it because it doesn't happen consistently enough. It happened 4 times yesterday, before that it hadn't happened for a week. It has been going like this for a couple of months now. I have tried removing and replacing the ram, I have reinstalled the OS, I removed the hard drive i had installed. I have opened it up numerous times to check all ribbon cable connections and nothing is loose or out of place. The last time I opened it immediately after turning it off and it does not seem to be over heating. I have tried replacing the power cable as well as plugging it into different power strips and outlets, nothing has fixed this problem. I am at my wits end with it, if anyone can think of anything I should try that I haven't listed I would appreciate it greatly.

buy another one cheap, and sell it to MPCstuff for parts. its what i did after giving up on mine which was doing the same thing.

Man, it hadn't rebooted itself in like a month and then today it froze mid recording a sequence on a screen with a bunch of lines that just said system halt, trying to determine if its related or not, searching for s halt messages the results are all related to installing a new os and initial boot up.

are you the original owner? if not, check the inside of the pads. usually when there's a conductive part hitting a piece of metal, the mpc will reboot itself. this is a known occurrence when people swap out the dead carbon pads and replace with foil tape or foil from chewing gum in order for the pad to work/hit 127 velocity all the time. the foil would sometime hit the tip of the screw that screws the pad into the metal sensor piece.

I'm not the original owner, but i did the pad replacement with the pad upgrade kit from mpc stuff. I will double check some stuff inside for potential shorts, thanks for the tip.
