Controlling a second pad bank on an MPC1000 with and MPD24?

So Im learning to fingerdrum with the MPC1000 and Ive gotten to the point where Id like to experiment with to sets of pads. Is it easy to configure an MPD24 to control say bank 4 while I play bank A with the MPC 1000s built in pads? So I can play A and D at the same time?

Also is it easy to set an MPD24 up to do 16 levels for tuning while I play drums on the MPCs pads?

yeah I would think so. I do not have that controller, bat with another controller I just set the midi note to correspond with the bank and so have both banks available at once, with MPC and controller
