while I'm using the mpc as my master time clock even when i have tempo change off when i use note repeat it'll switch the tempo on me occasionally, any suggestions?

Go to mode 10 and turn off Tap tempo on this button (if your OS supports it). If it's free JJOS you can't turn that off, and it's same thing as on original Akai OS.
