Record Audio track while sequence is running /w footswitc

Hello everyone!

I use JJOS2XL (3.09). I assigned footswitch01 to REC/PUNCH, and while I play the sequence (drum track 01 let say) and my screen is set to Audio track 02 (at the moment when I press start), if I press footswitch anytime through the sequence indicator <<recording stereo>> will appear but no actual recording is being made.

How can I overcome this problem? I'm actually trying to use MPC as to totally baypass Ableton in my live set, but with this option of no live looping while the sequences are running, this just can't be the case unfortunately.

Hey - unfortunately what you want to do is not possible, although it would be awesome. You must stop and restart a sequence in order to record an audio track. And it looks like there are no future feature updates of JJOS coming. This seems like a bummer but this type of thing wasn't even on the radar for the 1000 before JJ, so it's pretty hard to complain. The only (I think) hardware that does this kind of thing is the octatrack.

Its rather shocking that in 2015, this simple option (around from early loopers) is holding down such a powerful device to be a full live set tool. This way its a bit more then a reproduction gadget. What is more shocking is the fact that it has all the necessary hardware possibilities and not the idea that this would be more then helpful to musicians. Thanks for clearing this out dshook!
