replacing the right side PCB board

hey guys, so i need to replace the right side PCB board on my 1000. im getting this part here:

can anyone help me figure out how to safely uninstall my existing board and install this new one?

any help woudl be apprecaited....thank you!

you just have to go a screw at a time, and if you think it will help you, take a few cel phone snapshots as you go, in case you don't remember where something was..

the most time consuming part of the job is swapping the buttons (the plastic ones you press.

Everything else is a screw for a screw or a plug for a plug.


should give you no problems... just make sure you have an instrument that is small enough to pry slightly on the wire harness plugs if they give you any trouble or are sticky.

How do you know you have to replace the entire board? I was just curious.

i just did it a few weeks ago. Hardest part for me was removing the cables from the sockets. i was shook i was gonna rip them. If you dont intend on keepin the old board you can tear up the sockets. be carefull pullin the cords tho. The qlink and the ribbon cable.

Also, do not strip the screws. Dont force it. if u dont have the right screw driver go buy u a kit.

You will know you have to replace the board if the buttons and or jog wheel aren't very responsive. I just picked up a MPC1000bk in flawless condition but due to its age and the original PCB boards build quality(Akai kinda skimped on the 1000 PCB board from what I have researched) I know I gotta do it.
For example...
--gotta hit the mode and directional buttons in different ways to get them to respond by holding it down or pressing at different angles
--probably gonna pick the board and new buttons up next month and do a youtube vid on the install...

I could get by w/out doing this upgrade but I know this will greatly benefit my overall workflow and feel with the MPC.

Man, Nukai skimped on every damn part inside their "MPCs"...
