The problem was found in memory. Please check the memory!

Hi there,I'm using AKAI MPC1000 for 2monthes,my RAM stick is 256MB(which can only be read as 128MB),it goes well untill last week,when I turned on the MPC,it said like:


Boot on SODIMM memory check mode
Total memory size : 128MBytes
Check memory......
pass 1 : passed
pass 2 : passed
pass 3 : passed
pass 4 : failed(8c000000)

The problem was found in memory.
Please check the memory.
system halt.....

I removed the RAM stick and then turned on the MPC again,it goes well like always ,but I can't load the unchopped sample with only 16mb memory...

I know many dudes have the same problem like mine,but no one get any useful answer, and the different part is the mpc went well before it happend like this

No mystery here, your memory expansion has gone bad. You could try re-seating it, perhaps it had come a little loose, but in all likelihood it's just a memory stick that's developed a fault. Buy a new memory stick, they don't cost much at all these days.

Thanks dude! I already went to the second hand chip store and tried at least 5 RAM,the problem shows the same ,the only two different is :

1/some RAM just "system halt" after first or second bank
2/ some code changed into(88000000)

the brand of the RAM is IBM ,256MB MPC133 (32M x 64） 3.3V S S

I bought a new memory stick and all the proccess has passed,but the screen freezs on mpc1000(128mb installd) I tried the reset but it doen't work
