Track1 mutes whenever I record on track2

I tried searching for a solution, but I couldn't find any. If I have a recorded loop of chopped sample on track1, and I attempt to record a drumbreak on track2, every time I press a beatpad it mutes track1 until I let go. I tried switching mono to poly and vice versa, however nothing changed. It's probably a simple fix, but I have no idea. Any ideas?
