Hi all. I am new to the forum, but have been browsing for quite some time.
I had gotten a hard drive for my MPC1000, but it overheated and died.
After that, I decided to try to do the SSD drive. I put it in, and the MPC stayed on the opening screen for some time, so I thought it did not work (should have read this forum more thoroughly!).
Anyway, then I tried the CF card thing, no success. Then I went back to a standard IDE drive, but now it is not being powered up at all. I think in all my tinkering I must of done something bad with the power and shorted something out?
Has anyone else had experience with this happening?

Any help would be appreciated. Just wondering what might be done to fix it, or should I just bring it somewhere to be fixed? Id rather track down the problem myself so I dont have to pay for diagnostics. Just find the problem and get someone to fix it!

Thanks All!

Ed

By everything, what do you need to see? Ive looked closely, and theres no physical signs of anything wrong. No burn marks, theres never been a smell or anything like that, thats typical if the power burnt something out.
In the next few days I will trace back to see where (If even) the problem starts. Hate that its all surface mount, but oh well.
Ill also take pictures of everything from the ribbon to the HDM(clone from MPC Stuff), and the HDD, then going back to where the ribbon connects with the CPU board.
Pain in the ass, but oh well!
