Sample filters appearing when they’re not desired

Hello, I have the jjos2xl. The mpc is being used as my main sequencer, set up through a midi motu router express XT, I have the mpc 1000 sequencing 7 different synths and drum machines successfully, they’re all being controlled by my Akai mpk249 controller. The problem is when I try and sample, the sample often gets filtered by some sort effect or modulation once I try and lay the chops down to record. I’ve checked every known menu for any filters or effects being assigned to the pads, samples or even midi bend halftones, but I can only resolve the issue for a couple of seconds before the effect or modulation returns to the pad or assigned sample. I can get the sample to record clean but once I go to lay the sample down to record it will only play with tremolo or almost a chorus like flange.
