Hi, first ever post...

I'm wondering if there's a way to approach editing breaks in the early stages to get them to fall a bit tighter with a metronome for creating smaller phrases which can then be re-edited...

like in the first couple of minutes of this video:

but how one would approach for the MPC 1000? — or if this kind of thing is even possible?

my end goal is to be working with sections of breaks that are tighter timing-wise

I'm making things exclusively on the MPC so am trying to figure out how to do loads of things...

Any good advice / tips would be appreciated!

For a looser sound leave more space before the attack, to tighten it you want to get right up to the attack, or even past the start of the attack sometimes.

Make sure you start at 0 points, or put a very quick fade on your sounds if you get clicks.
