MPC 1000 stuck on Boot Loop

Hello, I recently got a MPC 1k from a good friend. He had it in a storage unit for quite some time and decided to give it away. When I brought it home and powered it on, it went straight to the MPC 1000 ( 16MB installed) screen, and the disappeared, only to return to that screen. It’s in a boot loop. I went into the unit and everything seems to be fine. All cable/wires are connected. Also I don’t have an additional Ram installed, and the Compact flash Card is taken out as well. I also try to Factory Reset the unit, but nothing. I’m really lost as to what can be the issue. Any help?

If you don’t have any RAM installed, it could be the soldered on stock RAM. What you could do is try and add a 128 MB RAM bar. The OS will override the stock RAM, since it can only deal with 128MB at a time. Maybe this happens early enough in the boot process to not make it go janky from any bad on board RAM.

Another thing worth checking for is if there are any autoload folders set that don’t exist anymore. Check the manual on how to set and reset these,

Any way to force it to load OS from the CF card instead of booting from memory?

Try to rule out corrupted operating system before you begin to inspect hardware.

So i would try to use that CF card you said you pulled out, and put a clean working version of the operating system on it, and use whatever button combination is required to for it to reinstall operating system from CF card (have to search for it).
