I gotta give it to Penny.....he was actually quite civil. 
Well I appreciate your encouragement or is it sarcasm? Either way glad you took the time away from your academics to answer such an easy question for me. Maybe next time I'll buy my MPC from a store THAT HAS THE INSTRUCTIONS WITH IT, instead of second hand from a friend. If that answers your literacy question or not, only you will know right??
an enterprising mpc1000 owner would discover that the manual is free, online, so not having the printed version is no excuse. seriously, check out page 50. it'll solve your problems.
