I usually just take my MPC to the arcade. Nobody seems to care.

Red and white nes cables to the MPC line in. I do the same thing with my PS2 and xbox. If you have the RF adapter going to your tv then does your tv have a red white output in the back, if so use that to mpc line in.
If your tv has no red white output then you might have to do the microphone thing.

Another way is to download the Nesticle NES emulator and the ROM of the game from which you want to sample. Nesticle allows you to send the sound output to a WAV file, which you can edit down from there. I've used this before and it works great for this purpose.

Yes, i did the same thing, only i just set my sound card to record "what you hear" Not all sound cards have it. But most decent ones do. I recorded the samples for this metroid beat. LOL it was a long time ago: http://www.soundclick.com/util/streamM3 ... 25843&q=Hi

Pun intended? It validly answers his question, and I'd say that's all that really matters.

Yo murj, that metroid track made me crack a smile! That was my favorite game for nintendo. I liked all of the different changes in the song. You did an excellent job of using the samples.

Envious I am

yeah, check if you tv has chinch outputs. if it doesn´t and if you only have a video-out, maybe you could take a video wire that has video connection and on the other end red-white-yellow chinch and just take the red and white...don´t know if that works, i´m not very familiar with video, never owned a vcr :?
