mpc 1000 cubase sx 3 midi note assign

Hi all.
when i have my mpc hooked up via midi to cubase the note value for the kick drum is pad 37 (c#1) when i change it to c1 for gm map in cubase nothing happens.
am i lame?

Most people in here will be well confused about question and will ask why do u wanna change the note for?

What is the overall thing you are trying to acheive mate, cause there might be a better work around for u.

Also there is no Device Map for MPC1000 and Cubase SX
You will find that Hardware and Software company's with simaler features dont work togther in these ways. Especially Akai.
