you'll need to play the song from start to finish with a cable going from audio out to record in. Youll need the RAM upgrade. Then you'll have a wav. Otherwise just record your song into your computer.

You don't need to plug the audio out to the record in, in fact that's a way to get some nasty feedback. Go to the sample menu, choose main outs as the input source, make sure the record time is long enough, record arm the sample then hit play. Save your sample to the flash card and then it will be available from the usb.

If you do want to connect the outs to the in, like if you wanted to put it through an outboard compressor/eq or something, make sure monitor input is switched to off.

that's assuming he has the 128mb upgrade. otherwise, 16mb will be gone in 50 seconds

thanks for the info. i was under the impression i could simply plug in the usb to the laptop and grab the completed song like that. how annoying.

i do have the memory upgrade.

i'm afraid your instructions go a little too fast for me though. would you be kind enough to point me through a clearer process, or tell me what i need to look for in the manual?

thanks, tee.

Check the manual on "Sampling", that should do it. Basically, you just go into sample mode and press PLAY.
