I'm just curios exactly which functions that differs between these machines... I know that the mpc1000 has usb, can't be upgraded with more outs/or whataever. also heard that you can't reverse samples within the machine, which the mpc2000xl can.

I also wonder if it's possible to use different filter-settings for diffrent sounds etc, or if the filter settings affect the whole "program" or so.

would be really happy if someone could help me out, so go ahead and drop a line - you don't need to drop the obvious differences (looks, size of pads etc.)

Did you try downloading the manuals and reading through them?

I'm sure you'll find some differences there?

Did you try downloading the manuals and reading through them? I'm sure you'll find some differences there? When most people tend to describe and explain things facts can get distorted and twisted, better to read and find out in black and white from the company right? No, not all the time, I take that back, but the manual will most likely clear up some comparisons you prolly had in mind, don't you think?

then I'll have to read through both mpc2000xl and mpc1000 manual then...

Me, I'd thumb through the indexes of both manuals to find the exact functions you are looking for then go to that page in each of them. If you don't find something like that in the other most likely it's not a function in that machine. I did alot of that with my ASR10 and my Triton Classic when I first got it to see what features I can relate to each other and what I can/can't do. After that I just let my imagination take over and fill in the blanks wherever I could. More work than just someone but you remember it more and you learn your machine in the process.

...so I should compare every function by myself - I never used an mpc, and I'm just trying to find out whar differs maybe not exactly every function, but....

It would be very tedious for me who doesn't have anything to compare with...

oh well... I don't want to sound like a whiner but I thought it wouldn't be that hard for some people that are really into the machines to pull up some differences function wise.

akai should have some sort of comparsion sheet or something for the machines.

Your not sounding like a whiner dude it's all good, you got a point.

Comparing functions, yeah, I would. that way I'd have a better clue on what would fit my production needs.

There are no music stores near you that have these units that you can play with and compare?

It's not hard for people to pull up differences at all, it's just that the SAME question get asked a million times and day and most peeps don't have the patience for that, if you could answer something yourself then why wouldn't you? That how it happens.

there's some post on the future producers site that details the differences.
