any coders/programmers wanna be my hero?

i have a lexar multi card reader - external, usb. it is very nice, i love it. here's the deal, though. i'd like a program coded to eject my flash card so i don't have to open my computer and hit eject every single time.

anyone able to do that? i'd provide them with some useful warez if they could...while at the same time heralding their name as a savior and bastard son of any god they please.

i don't know about your lexar joint but i bought a GE multicard (10 in 1) reader from Target for like $25 and i can leave the reader hooked up and just pop out my flash card without having to manually eject it on my computer.

i sold my old lexar one to a friend and got this one instead. made life a lot easier...........

Yeah. I got a sandisk hot swappable joint. Actually anything I get USB nowadays I make sure it's hot swappable so I don't gotta worry about that ish.

BTW sometimes alternatives are much more practical.

true, but what are the chances of someone coding a program, when you can just buy a card reader that does the exact same thing for the same price?

i was in the same position of being annoyed with manually having to eject the flash card on the computer. then i just switched up card readers and was straight.

Excuse my Windows(?) ignorance, but I am having a problem understanding what the problem is. Is the card hidden inside some sort of assembly like an old cassette payer and you have to use some sort of soft eject?

no...in this case the term "eject" means "prepare for physical eject." it severs any electrical current that may be going through it so you can safely pull it out.

my parents just bought a new dell with a built in card reader. i think i'm just gonna gank that one and put it into my machine...they'll never know it was gone cuz they never used it anyway. maybe that one is hot swappable...i'll just use the sandisk external for my laptop.
