midi program change

i have a 2000xl and my homeboy has a 1000. im trying to make tracks with the roland juno keyboard. now. on the 2000xl. to get different sounds for each track, all i have to do is change the midi number and change the program number. when i try it in the 1000, it doesn't work. is there anyway that i can do that?

You have to insert a program change into the sequencer. You can't do it while the sequencer is running.

I assume that the Juno isnt multi timbral . You have to go into the step sequencer and insert a MIDI Program Change.
