hey, I noticed there is a bent pin in the memory card slot, it's the upper left corner pin that is bent to the left, so when I put in a cf card I feel it doesnt go in all the way but it still loaded my stuff. I dont want to put anything in there since i found out a pin was bent, anyone know how to remedy this prob? I was thinkin to open the mpc and straighten the pin but I never opened it yet. I don't want to mess anything up. any tips? I was also wondering if every pin is neccesary for the mpc to read&save data or just a few pins read&save the data. any info is appreciated , peace.

I would guess that many of the pins are grounds, perhaps you bent a ground? I would hope so. You may be able to fix it but I've never opened my MPC so I don't know. You may be able to find the card reader's data file online, check it to see if you've bent a ground.

Otherwise,
Good Luck :D

Need to be careful - those pins will soon work-harden and snap. I had the same thing happen to a hard drive and we got the pin straightened so we could get the IDE cable back on again and transfer all the data. After that, it snapped off - end of drive.

The memory card slot on the MPC1000 is rubbish - half the time the card doesn't slot in at all, it only needs to be slightly off the horizontal, while my computer's card reader allows the cards to slot in effortlessly.

whats goin on Foflex, Tutor? I took the front cover off and bent the pin back with a small flathead screwdriver, Its still a liltle bent, but its ok for now, just hope it doesn't harden and break off. ok peace.

i would get a 2gig card and just leave it in that ****. it'll take longer for transfers but cost less than replacing. just a thought.
