transferring data from 2000 to 1000 - help please

Hi there. I´m just struggeling a bit with my 1000 - getting programs and sequences from my mpc2000 to the mpc1000. I was told that it was compatible with .all files, wav and .seq but it keeps on saying "wrong file" when I try to load in an .all file.....Wav works fine though but sequence does´nt seem to work either...
Any one out there who has a solution or do i really have to remake/recreate everything again??

I think FMJs Awave Studio can fix that. But it's slightly expensive...

I think you were lied to (by a salesman? imagine that!). The archives discuss this and Akai's website may still have this info posted.

I am pretty sure that the 1k can only read files from the 2kxl.

Okay- so what you are saying is that if I load in the files to a 2kxl
and save the same .all files as .all files on this machine and then load
them into the 1k - it might work...?

yes. But check the back of the 1k's manual to see exactly how it is compatible. I know it is compatible but I forgot with what.

if i'm not mistaken, the 2000 and the 2kxl have the same file formats and if so, what i wrote applies to both

MIDI and PGM's only....

APS and ALL do not work !! Save as mentioned above to import your old stuff.
