USB is just used for transferring files from your PC to the Compact Flash card that's in your MPC. Whether it's mono or stereo has absolutely no bearing on that. I'm confused why you would ask this question. Are you hoping whter it's mono or stereo it will transfer faster or something? Caue if so, it's pretty fast..it won't make much of a difference.

If you are wondering if the MPC will load Mono Or Stereo files AFTER transferring the files to CF card, the answer is, yes! The MPC loads both Stereo and Mono Wav's.

i meant to say if i wanted more more space, cuz now i'm using the stock flash card that came with it. but i heard that samples, drums, and kicks should be mono not stereo

A lot of people have that preference because it makes the drums sound more full and they hit harder. Usually the Kick and Snare are panned centre anyway, so they really don't need to be stereo. As a wav file though from say a PC...It might save you some space on the card to put it on Mono. Try saving something on your PC as both mono and stereo and right click on the files to see how many MB they are. That will tell you in an instant if you will save space.

If you are just sampling on the MPC and you sample in mono it will double the space you have. You can always make things stereo again with efx, panning, mixing, and such.

drums are better off mono cause you can cleanly roll the snare, double up the kick or 1/32 the hi hat. when its poly the drums tend to over lap. poly is only good for samples you wanna have a delay effect or someshit. but even therefore if you chop samples depending on your style youd prolly wanna cut off samples with mono feature anyways. thats how i do

wait a minute. i think your on the wrong mono. their talking about mono sampling. either side left or side right of the sound. not mono being 1 hit not overlappin itself.
