I wouldnt use an Akai Mpc 1000 because it doesnt produce good beats. What does work is; your fist and a table. You pound the table and clap to a hip hop funkish rhythm. Position your mic to record it and you could hit other objects to use as percussions such as a stapler, a book, some pots and pans, but my persoal favorite is an mpc 1000. Just bang it!

i love my mpc 1000, a turntable and vinyl is all you need along side it
