EQ and compression

How can I compress and EQ my drum samples on the mpc1k? I've tried reading the manual, but it doesnt cover anything on compression or EQing.

use the 'compress' effect for compression
use the 'filter' parameter under the Program menu for eqing,
or the 4band eq effect.

if you need to do it to many samples at once, resample them with the effects applied

...or were you looking for more like technique hints? i have heard though that the settings on the compressor aren't that adjustable compared to what software will give u.

A software/hardware compressor kills the compressor on the 1K!
