Sup y'all
Just gettin' going learning this stuff, and so far only been recording audio tracks, but want to get into recording midi, editing, etc.
[Gear:MPC1000, Fantom X-a, Digi 002 & Pro Tools] The MPC has 2 midi ins and 2 midi outs). The digi 002 has 1 MIDI IN port AND 2 MIDI OUT ports -16 channels IN/32 channels OUT. The fantom has 1 out , 1 in and 1 thru.

Duz anyone know how to best hook up midi connections for this kinda setup? I do my beats, sequences, bridges and all on the MPC. But I want to be able to do synth lines from Fantom to Pro Tools sequencer and use PT for processing, editing, etc. I know there are 3 sequencers here at hand and that chooosing one as 'master' and 'slave' is from what I can gather important, but based on what i'm doing, how do these connections go and midi transfer optimized?

Dang, needin' help here

In terms of sequencing, have the MPC as master. let that control all ya synths, keyboard etc...however its good to have a keyboard also connected the mpc IN so you can play chords etc..

interms of the digi stuff let that run into the MPC so it can sync..this will allow the digi to control the mpc and the synths all at the same time..in snyc thus allowing you to record all the audio signals in time.

Hey yo thanx Penfold,
I'm gonna experiment with this tha weekend setting tha MPC as the master to control my keyboard/syhtns as you mention, and let the digi run into the mpc so it can sync.

PACE!!!
