How fast is the mpc1000...?

I'm a mpc2000xl owner and I'm thinking about eventually gettin the new 2500 when it comes out. And since it's based on the mpc1k it should be equally fast or even faster(?). Therefore I'd like to know from you 1000 owners how fast it is to work with and how fast it loads wavs, how long does it take to load an average beat with say 10mb?
And if you were to load a 20-30mb file how long would that take?

i'm not about to sit in frount of my mpc with a stop watch, but it does not have long loading times

The only slow part about the 1K is when transfering from a computer to the CF-card or the other way around.. get a external cardreader to solve that problem (Not a big issue in my appinion)

Otherwise i would say it's pretty fast at loading waw's and all that other stuff.

loading and saving to the cf card isn't instant but it is isn't slow either, however i tend to use a fair few large multi-sample instrument .pgms, you'd barely notice your example of 10mb

any speed issues would be down to the cf card anyway, they're not as fast as hdd yet, so for the 2k5 (and soon the 1k by the looks of things) loading and saving to the hdd will be super speedy

Alright, all of this sounds good. I dont know if any of you ever used a 2kxl but it takes me about 30sec to load a beat around 8-10 mb. And loading a large wave file around 20-30 mb is not something you do at all.

It would be nice to be able to browse beats without having to wait half a minute of more.

I owned a 2KXL when it was first released. I prefer the 1K and the only thing I really miss from my first MPC is the tilting screen. Have you tried the CF upgrade for your XL? That might be the fairest way to compare loading times for your beats.

Yes I've upgraded my 2kxl with a cardreader, but I think the bottleneck is the weak processor in the 2kxl... I guess I'm spoiled with the computers nowdays

i never feel like i'm waitin for anything. usb is a different story, that takes much longer.

This sounds like music to my ears, it's time for me to save up some cash for the 2500....

the 1k load very fast compared with the 2kxl its trice as fast,
i load 32 mb in less than 30 secs. that tight shit !
