The Issues oF the MPC help me out

im really considering getting one but im not sure. Like everything, i understand there is always a setback. I understand that the pads on the 1000 can wear out and stop responding as they should. thats really all i heard. So yall just let me know the real pros and cons. Im a real aspiring producer and im tryin to get the right gear. So yall let me kno. Thanks

like with everything, if you take care of it, it will take care of you. i've had mine for a little over a year and i never had any problems such as pads not responding or wearing out or anything like that.

trust me if enough people complain sooner or later theyll make like a pad kit with better pads cause it happend with timing timestrch and zoning and also the colors so i think they can do something about it it depends how bad people really need it tho

Yes, we should do that, everybody complains about but they never do anything about it. Everybody that wants better pads for the mpc 1k should email and call akai. or we could do something similar to a petition. just a thought

Pros and cons, comparisons of all the mpcs are all over this site, you just gotta find, search read them.

a few people purchase bad MPC's. they get dodgy pads, and they complain about it.
i've beat the shit out of my pads for hours and hours and hours,
they've actually worn down a bit;

it doesnt actually look like that, just on an angle it does, the middle bit is shiny, but they're still highly responsive.

the deal is

no matter what people say the 1k is new and untested

so investing is kind of taking a chance

vs machines like the ASR, MPC 3k which have already produced lots of hits

mine has some small issues

but I think the limitations make it COMPARABLE to other legendary beat making powerhouses

it is fast and sounds good, isn't broken

if your worried get a warranty, you can definitely make good beats with it although the flexibility of the sampler is limited!!

The 1k is hardly new and untested, I've had mine for nearly two years.

Tested, mass produced, upgraded. Haven't had any problems in a year and change.

i think in the early days there were probably a bunch of bad ones. i say that being someone who bought a bad one

it seems theyve mostly corrected the quality control issues though.

so here's what you do, just in case. definitely DO buy am mpc1k. it's an amazing machine, a total classic. no doubt about it. BUT buy it from somewhere that can take care of you if something goes wrong. dont buy it from the place with the dirt cheap price that will leave you for dead if the thing breaks 3 days later. get it from a reputable shop and get an extended warranty if you can. it might be an extra $100 or so but that's nothing for some peace of mind. hopefully you'll never need it but at least yer protected.
