rca outs are NOT digital.

rca outs go to MPC line in.

so digital line outs are the only thing that the mpc will understand?

i was confused cause rca seems like, since it fits, its gotta work.

The digital I/Os on your MPC are RCA jacks. The RCA jacks on your mixer are analog. All you need to do is use get a pair of RCA to 1/4" adaptors and connect them to the analog inputs on your MPC. The manual will tell you how to do all the rest.

The RCA's look the same but don't carry the same signal.

Your mixer RCA outs are analog.
Your MPC1k RCA in/outs are digital.

Physically they fit, but your 1k will not recognize that signal..
It's expecting to be fed digital thru those RCA plugs.

Follow the above advice and you'll be fine.
