Well.... I heard that 9th got a 2000 a few months ago from a reliable source.
Computer timing can be fine if you are just looping shit, but as you add control changes and say, 64 midi channels (or even 32) you start to hurt. Even on a mac. the mpc wins by knockout in those cases. Timing is tighter than on any computer. the laid back feel is careful programing and perhaps swing. Something you could do on a computer if you are worth your salt.
45 King has used an MPC for a while now. He is using logic more now from the last interview I read, but the shit he is known for was probably mpc or akai rack samplers and a sequencer.
If you have the cash I am sure you could just buy something to see if it is what you are after.
As far as the loop to test logic, a loop is only as good as the loop points. it has nothing to do with the sequencer. the mpc, logic, or even soundforge (no sequencer) will react the same to it.
As for saying your shit is 10 times better than all MPC users, that is a pretty wanker statement. Pete Rock uses an MPC, as does Primo, so beauty in the eye of the beholder is at work here. Something pedestrian brits are really no good at. I'm glad that most brits here are very conscious and know their shit, so this wasn't a problem until you showed up and started this gabbage.
I think I've heard of your crew. You guys sit around and bukkake each other when you get your loop points right, right?
