midi keyboards for the mpc1k

thanks. i have the correct mental picture of the cable i need to cop now.

its just that in an earlier post someone said "This way you can get the phone signal into the MPC. Or use a regular instrument cable and sample in mono".

I dont really know much about the difference between mono and phone singals.

Also, is there anything I can check with the keyboard to insure that if I buy the cable, I'll be able to simply record into the mpc, regardless of what voice/sound I'm using on my keyboard (none of these are present on the mpc).

I think you can figure out the cable thing by now.

Yamaha is a nice cheap keyboard to get started on with your beats!
For $200 you could get a decent used synth, like a Juno, AN1x, or E-mu synth like PK-6 or something, or Alesis Micron/ Microkorg (a little more)
