hate the sequence setup, step edit mode sucks, it's one of those things you
love and hate, sequencing is the most important tool on the MPC series. I will be doing a thread on this topic, i know someone'S is needing this info. :? T"

jus don't response like the XL, has to many pad, open windows jus to setup
control MSB/LSB, I'm using Extreme. I understand the same midi channel stuff, I'm missing something, the learning curve is not user friendly now.
Rep said it's a monster to get around this part of the program. T

people that purchase then sell there new peice of equipment didnt learn there new machine obviously for these reasons im bout to give, we should know we see them coming to these furoms and complain how much it sucked and then it turned out they just needed help with it or needed to know what they bought, YES I DID SAY "TELL THEM WHAT THEY BOUGHT". we have seen those kinds of people on here as well. people that bought an mpc1000 didnt know wtf a sampelr was or how to sequence. and it was a simple solution that was in the manual that they skipped a few pages or never read the manual at all nor did they do there homework on what the product was all about. in the end the ones that sold away what they spent money on robbed themselves of money and good times that would have been with an mpc lucxkily these sorry users who have done this have gone back to there video games and droped music making with a passion, these people have no drive for music nor do they respect any form of artistic expression by others these assholes think they are the shit with all the answers but in reality the manual had the answers the user simply didnt read it . if people learned to read a simple set of instructions to a tool such as the mpc then u wouldnt hear this kind of drama.

the mpc1000 is a beast. and for all these guys and girls here who own a mpc who are happy with there purchase will tell u the samthing. but these folks have done there homework as well as have knowledge in sampling and sequencing in more than one form from various programs to gear for many years or just started..heres advice to newcomers learn to learn.

My 2 cents::

do you consider yourself , in some sense, a songwriter? or a composer?
then BUY THE MPC ALREADY @#$%! :)

...because i name it the easiest way to get a rhythm or melody idea out of your head into audio.

if you are a keys player, just plug you kb to it... or if you arent, just get used to entering notes with the pads, it sure works for me, and of course drum beats are a given.

You could configure a pc to work similarly, but i am more creative when im just sitting on the couch or whatever, with the lights low... same idea as sitting with a guitar in your lap; thats when the music flows.

word... im respectin what people gotta say about gettin an MPC then sellin it a few weeks later.

I dont own an MPC but i will most likely be getting one in the next month, I'm just kinda scared that im gonna get one and somehow not be able to work on it. Im a big software man but i really wanna go into the hardware, it seems more fun and in my opinion sounds waaay better.

I'm just wondering how hard of a transition it's gonna be from fruity loops to an MPC.

Its a great transition. Because if you already know how to use FL, you will understand how to lay things out on the mpc. I went from software to hardware and I love the mpc

I`m picking up an extra used 1000 fully load because of the reasoning you stated on the cheap next week. I`m a 4k user but I want something for the living room and to take out on the room. The 4k is too big for that. I like your reasoning even though you may receive some flame for it . Just visit the 4k forum he he he. Still without the quitters selling their gear on the cheap I couldn`t have gotten such a great deal and I`m looking forward to the OS release too. Of yeah I always do my homework.

See yeah. :idea:
