ok, here's what i would do. i would start my setup like this:

MIDI CONNECTION

using the D3200 as master

connect midi out from the d3200 to the midi in 1 on the mpc and have the mpc midi out A going to the midi in on the d3200. have the midi out B on the mpc going to the motif rack and have the midi in 2 on the mpc going to the midi out on the keyboard. (this way, when you press record on the D3200, the mpc will start playing)

AUDIO CONNECTION

connect all 4 assignable outs plus the L/R of the main outs of the mpc to the first 6 inputs of the d3200, then connect the main outs of the motif via a 1/4" y adapter (see pic below) to channel 7 on the d3200. then connect the main outs on the d3200 to the monitors.

INTERNAL CONFIG

MPC: mode+pad9 (MIDI/Sync) sync tab in 1 out A
D3200: goto the MIDI/MMC page then select MIDI Clock Master
D3200: goto the channel assign page, select input 1 to channel 1, input 2 to channel 2 and so on until you have all 7 channels assigned. then arm each track.
MPC: build your seq/song (if converted to song, make sure all tracks and pgms are the same for all the seqs) then assign each pad to the assignable out you desire (you can assign the main outs L/R as out 5 and 6 respectively) you will not be able to assign the midi track from the motif an assignable out but it will play when your song gets to that point. if you have more than 6 mpc tracks (not including the motif tracks) just mute those until you do your initial record pass. then reassign the remaining tracks an out and unmute them. then mute the tracks you previously recorded.

press record/play on the D3200... in theory, you should be recording now. if you do have additional tracks that you did not previously record, do as above then go to the D3200

D3200: unarm the tracks you just recorded and move the wires from the back to go to the next available inputs (in this case the next available one is channel 8.) follow the above then arm those channels and press record/play again. in theory... again, you should be recording.

hope this helps

Thanks For the breakdown!!!!!!!

1. Midi connection

I went to guitar center and bought the midi cables for the d3200...
I connected the Midi cables just as you said...I didnt have a problem with this .....

2. Audio Connection

Unfortunatly I dont have four 1/4 inch cables to assign to my assignable outs on my Mpc only my Main outs...
So what I have is My 2 main outs coming out from my Mpc to the first 2 inputs on the d3200....Is this Ok?????

I connected My outputs from the motif rack to inputs 3 and 4
I didn't get the 1/4" y adapter because I Thought it would make the motif into MONO am I right ????

As Far as internal config....

Mpc Sync Is set...D3200 Midi Clock Master as well

As Fars as the Assign Page I seem confused
I have my first four inputs in my d3200 used in the chanel assign page theres two choices
Chanel And Source I have source 1 to chanel 1 and source 2 to chanel 2 so and so on.....I get the sound from my mpc but nothing from the motif at all.... i use my motif but get no sounds coming out...Im sure the midi from the mpc to motif is right because i didnt touch that...

and when I hit play or record on my d3200 Im gettin a pop up that says
" Illegal Range In=Out or Out<In"

I really appreciate your help and if you understand the confusion im in and can still help me....
Ill be so Thankful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok i was just readind sparqs post again now a question for sparq if you have the midi data from the keyboard being input to the mpc why would you need to have midi from the sound module when its recording the data from the keyboard?maybe its just that i have a cheap keyboard but id figure if you recorded the keyboard data you just got the sounds from the module?now forgive me for asking but i never used a sound module before and im pretty new to midi.
