OS 1.07, or just OS Updates in general

quick question, and im sure its really easy for people on this board to answer ( I already searched all over here and akais website b4 asking too )......

I succesfully updated my OS to the lastest 1.07. I dowloaded the .bin file, moved it to the flash and ran the update. My question is, is after updating the OS do I need to have that flash card with the .bin file everytime I load the MPC to have the latest OS on it? Or once you update it, its good to go with or without the card?

no you don't need the flash card. it's a one shot deal. once you install it, it stays resident on the internal ROM

great, thanks alot man. also, just another dumb little question. i use none of the presets on that flash card the mpc came with. will erasing everything on that flash card bite me in the ass later? is there anything on there that needs to be there?

i only had the mpc since saturday, but i have already learned a shit load on it. already making tracks and creating whole songs. just little quirky things like this get to ya.

no you can erase the card. but if you are going to use your own, i suggest you turn off autoload on the mpc. read up in the manual on how to do that. if at anypoint you want the presets you can always download it from akai's website.

I got rid of those presets a long time ago, there is nothing you need on that flash card. You can always back up the contents if you want to keep those samples.
