from the get go for me, but to get it to loop without it clicking before it repeats or you hear another intro or fade before it repeats took about 3 days to master. im a loop finding champ....yes yes ya`ll.

chop your samples note per note and then set each individual note to "note on"

that's a lot of notes but take note - it's the best method for sampling in existance.

yessir. it's only hard work the first few times you do it. make a practice of it and it's therapudic.

control is everything when it comes to digital music. use shredded sound like effin' fabric, man - patchwork quilts, collages and such shit. it's the future of sampling...it's the only way how sampling may regain its foothold over strictly keyboard producing...

Agreed, but truth is if you can't get a loop, you're not likely to be able to chop wisely and even less to use them chops wisely.
BTW finding a seamless loop is a matter of being able to count, really.

yeah. good point. incompetence is incompetence, really.

however, once you're good, if you have a loop that sounds a little bit cluttered or bad at the end, when you chop you can just smudge it right out with a bit of attack/decay. use a double of your last couple chops as a bandaid to fix up your bad samples...always helps me, and kids can never tell the difference.

there's this guy jel who i think is the master of chopping. he uses an sp1200, he's the one who really got me into this level of creative sampling. patchworking with patched phrases...you know what i mean.

good to see you back in the realm of the living, krisk. i missed your expertise.

wattup, i think sampling works if u understand the concept. as for me , (im still young) when i first understood how rap producers create all these cool beats by sampling, when i understood the concept of chopping and shit, i got my 1k and the first day it was pretty much a breeze to get shit to loop properly, i mean.. i guess u gota have abit of a musical ear/rythm in you to get it off the bat.. but i grrew up around pure music of all kinds so that helped.. sola let me hear some of ur shit man? how long u been at it? me about a year..anyways peace

"zero point crossings"

I try this but even if I set a loop to one in say, a flute note, I still get a bad pop...which is worse if I go 1 number in either direction on the front or the back...

Would it be possible to do the crossfade or eliminate the pop in the computer, then trim the .wav and load it in the MPC, just looping start to finish?
